We operate the Wedlancer Platform — a marketplace connecting wedding photography and filmmaking freelancers with studio owners across India — accessible via our website and any associated mobile or desktop applications (collectively, the "Platform").
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you access or use our Platform. It also explains your rights in relation to your personal data and how you can exercise them.

For all users (Freelancers and Studio Owners):

- Profile photo (if uploaded)
For Freelancers additionally:
- Service category (e.g. Candid Photographer, Aerial Cinematographer)
- Bio, pricing range, and kit details
- Portfolio photographs and video links
- Government-issued identity document (Aadhaar card, PAN card, or Passport) — collected solely for identity verification
- Subscription and payment information
For Studio Owners additionally:
- Company or studio name
- Business city
- Inquiry and event details submitted through the Platform (event date, location, shoot information, contact details)
3.2 Information We Collect Automatically
When you use the Platform, we automatically collect:
- IP address and approximate geographic location
- Browser type, device type, and operating system
- Pages visited, time spent on each page, and navigation patterns
- Referring URLs and search terms
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 9 for details)
3.3 Information from Third Parties
If you sign in using Google OAuth, we receive from Google:

5. Government ID and Sensitive Personal Data
We collect Government-issued identity documents (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport) exclusively for the purpose of freelancer identity verification. This constitutes Sensitive Personal Data or Information (SPDI) under Indian law.
We handle this data with the following commitments:
- Government ID documents are stored in a private, access-controlled cloud storage bucket
- They are accessible only to authorised Wedlancer administrators for verification purposes
- They are never shared with studio owners, other freelancers, or any third party — except where required by law
- Once verification is complete, the document is retained only as required for legal compliance and audit purposes
- Freelancers may request deletion of their ID document after verification by writing to hello@wedlancer.in
- We obtain your explicit consent before collecting Government ID documents during the onboarding process

6. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data to any third party under any circumstances.
We share your data only in the following limited circumstances:
6.1 With Other Users on the Platform
- Freelancer profiles — including name, category, city, bio, kit details, portfolio, pricing, tags, and average rating — are visible to all visitors of the Platform
- Freelancer contact details (phone number and email address) are revealed only to studio owners who have submitted a formal inquiry — they are never displayed publicly
- Inquiry details submitted by studio owners are shared with the relevant freelancer(s) as part of the lead process
6.2 With Service Providers
We work with the following third-party service providers who process data on our behalf:
- Supabase — database hosting, authentication, and file storage
- Razorpay — payment processing for Premium subscriptions
All service providers are bound by data processing agreements and are required to handle data strictly as instructed by us.
6.3 Legal and Regulatory Disclosure
We may disclose your personal data if required to do so by law, court order, or a competent government authority in India.
6.4 Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets of Wedlancer Private Limited, your personal data may be transferred to the acquiring entity.
